On a glorious North Wagga afternoon we had our super star friends (in country music!) Fan & Dan around as well as Gypsy girl beauty and James Farley to capture these two love birds in an engagement shoot. We styled it up, but these guys are the real deal. Fanny Lumsden: singer, songwriter, guitarist and all round charismatic front woman and Dan Freeman: kick ass double bassist, geek and grounded charmer are so in love and so wonderful together. Dan proposed in the very middle of Australia in their little caravan Millie as a storm raged overhead and… The Good Dinosaur played on their laptop. I mean really? Makes me all teary!!!
For this shoot we wanted to take Fan & Dan out of their usual country music context and glam it up… but keep them in the country. We made this (frankly delicious) crown out of all our own grown blooms. The train viaduct and the old telegraph lines in North Wagga are just one small reason why I (Sophie) love living where I do… and that golden afternoon light? That’s another.
Many thanks to the team that helped us make it all happen. Especially James for being behind the lens and so generous with his time and images.
